Liquid premix high in vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol) and selenium for dairy cows. Especially recommended around calving, for reproductive problems (metritis, fertility disorders) and at peak lactation. The emulsion mixes easily with water; given individually or to groups.
To offset poor vitamin E and selenium absorption, as support during or after illness, for reproductive problems, in the transition period and at peak lactation, and to complete the daily ration.
Vitamin E 200,000 mg, selenium 200 mg.
With drinking water: 10 ml per cow 1–2 times a week, in proportion to yield or body weight. Maximum daily dose: 37.5 ml per cow or 1,500 ml per 1,000 kg feed. Do not exceed vitamin E 7,500 IU/kg, selenium 7.5 mg per cow per day and 0.3 mg/kg feed (88% DM). Consult a nutritionist or veterinarian before use or extended use. Store in the original closed container.
In Lacetera et al. (1996), cows given selenium and vitamin E 3 and 1.5 weeks before calving produced 22% more colostrum in the first 36 hours and 10% more milk in the first 12 weeks of lactation than untreated cows. Kafilzadeh et al. (2014) found no significant differences between oral and injected vitamin E and selenium and recommended oral supplementation instead of injections.
